For use with CIVCO Assist Positioning Arms

The CT Multi-Angle Instrument Guide was designed to increase the accuracy of image-guided instrument placement and to reduce the amount of time necessary to target a lesion. The Multi-Angle Instrument Guide allows the use of a complete range of instrument sizes and provides a precise targeting angle in any single plane or in two planes simultaneously in cases where the gantry is angled. The instrument guide is engineered to Quick-Mount(TM) into the CIVCO Assist Positioning Arm and is ideal for applications such as biopsy of small or deeply situated lesions, and instrument placement for ablation therapies. In appropriate cases, respiratory gating should be used to achieve optimal accuracy. This Multi-Angle Instrument Guide gives the physician ultimate control over the positioning of instruments at a desired angle and entry point for percutaneous access. Once a target is identified and the optimal entry point determined, the desired angle to reach the targeted area may be selected and locked into position on the Angular Scale. A disposable Multi-Pro 2000(TM) needle guide is attached to the guide mount to provide a versatile pathway for the instrument. The needle guide offers a quick-release feature allowing the physician easy detachment of the needle from the guide if required. In cases where the target organ is moving with respiration, a suitable respiration gating method is used and the quick-release lever on the guide mount may be manually triggered by the action of instrument placement prior to having the patient resume respiration. Acting as an interface between the Positioning Arm and the CT Multi-Angle Instrument Guide, the Fine Adjustment Mechanism provides small movements to assist in leveling the instrument guide. Adjustments on the Fine Adjustment Mechanism can be made in all three linear directions, X, Y and Z. The Fine Adjustment Mechanism includes a bubble level to assist in defining the orientation of the adjustments. It is recommended the Fine Adjustment Mechanism be covered by the Positioning Arm Cover. To clean, wipe all surfaces with germidical wipes or alcohol. Patent pending. The CT Multi-Angle Instrument Guide is non-sterile and may be autoclaved, sterilized or disinfected using Cidex or Cidex OPA. The Multi-Pro 2000 needle guide is sold sterile and should be disposed of after use. Multi-Pro 2000 needle guides are available separately (610-918).
