CIVCO Installs RFSuite™ Tracking and Verification System in California and Italy
Kalona, Iowa, USA, – CIVCO’s RFSuite RFID tracking and verification system has been installed at Moores Cancer Center in San Diego, California, United States, and Hospital San Raffaele in Milan, Italy. The RFSuite system uses RFID technology to track patients, staff and equipment and to provide accessory and patient verification for treatment. “RFSuite and other new innovative CIVCO solutions are providing the clinical community with the tools needed to enhance safety and ensure the effective delivery of radiation therapy,” said Geoffrey Dalbow, Chief Technology Officer for CIVCO.
The RFSuite software, RFTrak™, provides a snapshot of where people and items are located in any facility, improving workflow and reducing patient wait time. CIVCO’s RFSeries™ line provides a broad array of products with RF tags. “RFID technology is uniquely positioned to have a major impact in radiation oncology,” said Todd Pawlicki, Director of Medical Physics and Clinical Operations at Moores Cancer Center. “In addition to equipment and resource tracking, RFID will provide the real-time process data that can be used as the basis for comprehensive performance and safety programs. We look forward to working with CIVCO in developing their RFID technology as a key component of our data-driven improvement approaches such as Lean or Six Sigma.”
