CIVCO offers two compact water tanks that are 30.5 x 38 x 38cm or 38 x 38 x 38cm with 9.525mm thick acrylic walls. They also include a horizontal scale and water drain kit, as well as the choice of either a manual depth dose apparatus or a motorized depth dose system with remote control/readout.

The water tanks are small enough for convenient, quick setup; yet provide a sufficiently large internal volume for analysis of clinically relevant areas of radiation therapy beams. These water tanks are compatible with TG51 and other protocols for beam quality control.

Manual Depth Dose System

This device is constructed from acrylic, brass, teflon and stainless steel for accuracy and durability. The probe drive attaches to the side of the water tank and a top-mounted manual crank and a four-digit counter are provided for exact vertical positioning of the measuring probe within the tank. The total vertical travel of the probe holder is 25cm. The mechanical resolution of the vertical drive mechanism is .1mm. The manual depth dose device may also be relocated horizontally along the wall of the tank using the horizontal scale provided. Acrylic probe holders for micro chambers, farmer-type chambers or parallel plate chambers are included with this system.

Motorized Depth Dose System

The Motorized Depth Dose System employs all the mechanical components of the Manual Depth Dose System with the added convenience of controlling the vertical probe position remotely from the console. A motor controller/readout module with control switches and four-digit LCD counter enable the physician to remotely drive the ionization chamber within the tank. The motorized depth dose apparatus eliminates the tedium of repeated manual repositioning of the probe. It is available in 110 or 220 volt versions.
