This one-hour continuing education seminar covers a variety of Prone Breast Treatment topics including: defining the problem, goals and methods of prone treatment, setup challenges, treatment techniques and a summary of published data with regard to outcomes.
After this seminar, participants will have:
-- A clear understanding of the target patient population which are good candidates for prone breast irradiation.
-- An understanding of the benefits and goals of prone positioning.
-- A knowledge of the wide range of positioning devices created for prone treatments and what the setup challenges are.
-- Understanding the challenges associated with treating large patients.
-- Understand the dosimetric approaches for beam angles and fractionation schemes and how this affects critical dose structures.
